C.S. Lewis (The Chronicles of Narnia) and J.R.R. Tolkien (The Lord of the Rings) were friends. They would get together every Monday morning to talk and share whatever they were writing at the time. Eventually other authors joined them and they moved their meetings to Thursday nights. They called themselves The Inklings.
I am offering a similar group called The Young Inklings in my classroom during lunch on Thursday. We will get together and read poetry, stories and novels. More importantly, we will write our own stories and use some lessons to help you get your story published. (Check out the details on the website of the Society of Young Inklings.)
Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
